" Southcentral Foundation has had tremendous success in improving primary care from a quadruple aim perspective. In August 2019 a cohort of 19 attended a symposium created for BC participants to learn about their Nuka Model of Care.The webinar, hosted by Dr Dan Horvat along with a panel of Physicians who also attended, presented on the key learnings and how they can be applied in BC. They were prepared to exist within the context of current legislation, including two privacy laws:
1) The BC Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which is the ‘private sector’ privacy law that covers the Delta Division of Family Practice, Doctors of BC, A GP for Me, health clinics, psychologists, GPs, counselors, and not-for-profit organizations, etc., and
2) The BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), the ‘public sector’ law, which applies to the Ministry of Health and Health Authorities."
